Radames SS was a Egyptian Cargo Steamer of 3,575 tons built in 1903 by A McMillan & Son, Dumbarton, Yard No 390 for SS Dumbarton Co Ltd (H McLean), Glasgow. She was powered by a steam tripleexpansion engine T3cylinder 305nhp giving 11.5 knots. Engines by Clyde SB & Eng Co Ltd, Port Glasgow. She had many owners.
1904 R McMillan (mng E P Babtie), Glasgow 1907 SS Overdale Co Ltd (Babtie & Co), Glasgow renamed OVERDALE. 1914 (mng (Babtie, Weir & Co, Glasgow) 1915 Chr. Salvesen & Co (Theodore E Salvesen), Leith 1925 Britain SS Co Ltd (Watts, Watts & Co Ltd), London. In 1926 she was renamed WINSLOW. 1928 The Watts Shipping Co Ltd (same mng), London 1930 Armement Colignon SA (mng Agence Coppé & Vaessen), Antwerp renamed FERNAND COLIGNON. 1932 Albert Klat, Alexandria renamed RADAMES. 1940 A & R Klat, Alexandria, Egypt.
On the 20th May 1941 RADAMES was torpedoed by German submarine U-103 off the Liberian coast. She sank on 25th May 1941 after being torpedoed again by same submarine when on route from Vizagapatam for Barry Roads with a cargo of iron ore and groundnuts.

At 16.31 hours on 25 May, 1941, the unescorted Radames was hit in the stern by one torpedo from U-103 after being chased for about five hours and sank slowly by the stern about 80 miles from Monrovia, Liberia.
